Have you ever reviewed dash cam footage after an accident, only to find that the license plate was too blurry to read?

Whether it’s a hit-and-run, a parking incident, or poor nighttime visibility, identifying a license plate can be crucial. The VUEROID S1 includes AI License Plate Restoration, a cloud-based feature that helps enhance blurry or partially unreadable license plates, giving you additional clues when reviewing important footage.

This guide explains how to use the feature.

Note: The AI is not trained to process plates that are already clearly readable by the human eye. Attempting to enhance such plates may result in poor or inaccurate restoration results.

What Is AI License Plate Restoration?

AI License Plate Restoration analyzes a selected license plate from your dash cam footage and attempts to recover missing or blurry details using AI image processing.

The feature is available through the VUEROID HUB app and can be used up to five times per day.

Although AI cannot guarantee an exact reconstruction, it can provide valuable supporting information during accident investigations or insurance claims.

Step 1. Turn On Wi-Fi

• Press the Wi-Fi button on your VUEROID S1.
• Wait until you hear the voice prompt: “Wi-Fi is ready.”

Step 2. Connect with the VUEROID HUB App

• Open the VUEROID HUB app.
• Tap Connect Wi-Fi, then select Playback after the connection is established.

Step 3. Select Your Footage

• Download the recording containing the license plate.
• Open My Library, select the video, and pause on the frame where the license plate is most visible.

Step 4. Select the License Plate

Tap AI License Plate Restoration.

• Pinch to zoom in or out.
• Drag the image until the plate is centered.
• Tap Specify Restore Area.
• Adjust the red selection box so the entire license plate is inside without being cropped.
• Tap Transfer to upload the selected image for AI processing.

Step 5. Wait for Processing

Choose one of the following options:

• Wait on the current screen until processing is complete.
• Receive a push notification once the restored image is ready.

If you’d like to receive notifications, make sure notifications are enabled for the VUEROID HUB app in your smartphone settings.

Step 6. View the Result

Once processing is complete, tap Confirm to download the restored image.

The restored image is automatically saved in My Library.

Saved File Names

• F/R + L + A – License plate image after AI restoration.
• F/R + L + B – Original selected license plate area before AI restoration.

*F/R indicates whether the image was captured by the Front or Rear camera.

Important Notice

AI License Plate Restoration generates its results based on AI analysis and estimation of the available image data.

The restored result is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate and may differ from the actual license plate.

Always compare the restored image with the original footage and use it only as supporting information, not as definitive evidence.
