How Geofencing Helps Your Dash Cam
Save Battery Power
Parking mode is one of the most valuable features of a dash cam, providing protection even after the engine is turned off.
1. Why Parking Mode Doesn’t Always Need to Be On
However, there are many situations where continuous parking recording simply isn’t necessary. If your vehicle is parked inside a private garage or a secure workplace parking lot, recording for hours may only consume battery power and storage without providing additional benefits.
Instead of manually disabling parking mode every time you arrive at these locations, some dash cams can do it automatically.
2. Automatically Disable Parking Mode with Geofencing
Geofencing uses GPS location data to recognize when your vehicle enters or leaves designated areas.
On VUEROID dash cams, this feature is called Auto REC Off Zone.
Once a trusted location has been saved, the dash cam automatically skips parking mode whenever the vehicle is parked inside that zone. As soon as the vehicle leaves the area, normal parking protection resumes automatically.
No buttons to press. No settings to change. Everything happens automatically based on your location.
3. Configure Auto REC Off Zone Your Way

Auto REC Off Zone can be configured directly on your VUEROID dash cam or through the VUEROID HUB App, allowing you to choose whichever method is most convenient.
To configure it on the dash cam:
Menu → Parking Mode → Auto REC Off Zone
From there, simply:
- Select Zone 1, 2, or 3.
- Save your current location.
- Choose a radius of 30 m, 50 m, or 100 m.
- Enable the selected zone.
You can save up to three trusted locations, making it easy to automatically disable parking recording at places such as your home, workplace, or any other frequently visited parking area.
4. How It Works in Everyday Driving
Imagine arriving home after work.
Instead of entering parking mode, the dash cam recognizes your saved Home Zone and automatically disables parking recording.
The next morning, as soon as you leave home, parking protection becomes active again without requiring any input from the driver.
The same process works for any saved location, allowing your dash cam to adapt automatically to your daily routine.
5. Why Auto REC Off Zone Is Useful
Auto REC Off Zone is designed to make parking mode more practical rather than simply recording for longer.
By automatically disabling parking recording in trusted locations, it helps:
- Reduce unnecessary battery consumption
- Avoid recording hours of uneventful footage
- Preserve storage for important events
- Eliminate the need to manually switch parking mode on or off
The result is a parking mode experience that is both more convenient and more efficient.
