VUEROID S1 4K Infinite Stands Out
in Low-Light Parking Mode Testing
We’re honored that Vortex Radar named the VUEROID S1 4K Infinite his favorite in a five-camera comparison of low-light parking mode performance. His test looked beyond how bright each recording appeared. It also examined whether the cameras captured events reliably when something happened around a parked vehicle.
Five Dash Cams, One Image Sensor
Vortex Radar compared the VUEROID S1 4K Infinite with the Thinkware ARC800, Thinkware U3000 Pro, VIOFO A329S, and BlackVue Elite 9. All five use the same Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 front image sensor.
That common starting point made the differences in the footage particularly interesting. The cameras were tested in dark parking environments, including an area without streetlights. Their results varied in image brightness, visible detail, and how consistently they began recording events.
What Stood Out About the S1 4K Infinite?
With Premium Night Vision enabled, the S1 4K Infinite produced bright parking footage and reliably captured different events in Vortex Radar’s test. The Thinkware cameras also delivered bright video, but the ARC800 did not always activate consistently. The VIOFO A329S and BlackVue Elite 9 recorded considerably darker footage in the area without streetlights.
For parking protection, these differences matter together. A bright image is useful only if the camera records the event in the first place. Likewise, an event recording is more useful when the surrounding scene is visible enough to understand what happened. The S1 4K Infinite performed well on both points in this comparison.
Vortex Radar suggested that image processing likely contributed to the differences, even though the five cameras share the same sensor. It is a useful reminder that a sensor specification alone does not tell the whole story of how a dash cam performs after dark.
